Kids tri 9th March 2007

Doing the hard yards...Well today the faces of over 400 kids made me realise what triathlon is all about and why its such a great sport for everyone. It doesn't matter what you throw at kids these days, generally they give it a go. And It's been no more apparent than at the local Kids triathlon series run by the Manawatu triathlon club.
I have been able to make for the last two events with only one remaining out a five race series. Every race attracts a bigger filed each week and with the amount of kids in little old Palmerston North getting into triathlon it just blows me away. I dont remember there being anything like this when I was running around with gay abandon!!
But what the local club have got together over the summer has been amazing. And so the kids come out and have fun and thats whats its all about... Attached is a couple of pics. The first is before the start of the 5 and 6 year olds race. And the second is one of the many expressions that you get over the afternoon ( A Classic).
