Two more weeks! 18th October 2008
Two more weeks of racing and 2008 is in the bag, Well for me anyway!
2008 has been an eventful and stressful year for myself which of course culminated with my unfortunate disappointment in Beijing. The freak injury that happened two weeks prior in Germany will never be forgotten. But it is filed now... under "what may have been but is still possible in years to come"
These last 6 weeks I have fought with myself and my body to get back on track. I needed to give myself and my body another chance to endure the pain it so dearly loves tis year. The path to that decision was not easy, but the rehabilitation with my foot has gone well and I decided that I'll test it out in the last world cup of the season in Mexico on the 26th of October. If things go as planned I'll also be in Noosa (Australia) the following week for the biggest triathlon festival in the southern hemisphere. Some of my sponsors are present and I'll plan to race my last race of the season there.
I'll then return home to catch up with everyone before heading shortly back to Europe for two meetings with the IOC and the executive board of the International triathlon Union where we will be discussing the New World Championship series that is starting next year. I'll be back in Palmerston North mostly but will be traveling to Auckland to catch up with everyone over that time.
I look forward to some nice Kiwi weather as its 1 degree outside. Time for a short run with my full tracksuit, gloves, and woolly hat on! This is the life a....
Cheers,
Kris
