Good morning again to most!,

The countdown is on....

Only a week until the Olympic selection event in Beijing. It will be on the same course that will be used for the games in 2008. Everything I've done this year will be put to the test when I line up on Sunday afternoon. If I race the way I know I can I know things will happen.

At the moment like I said in my last email I'm in japan. Its been bloody warm here since we all arrived, but perfect for what we will encounter in Beijing. I've slowly gotten over the jet lag which was one of the main reasons for traveling over early from Europe. And I have really started to feel great heading into the weekend over the last 4 days.

Then there where sixAs most of you also know or would have heard I made a hard choice to pull out of the world champs last weekend in Hamburg during the run. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do! But I trust in the people that have taken me this far, and helped me along the way to give me this opportunity to qualify for Beijing. We all have to make choices at some point in our life. I believe If you listen to the information given to you and you trust the people that give it to you, you can never go wrong.

The race itself went great for me. I had a good swim and controlled the front well on the bike. And then stuck to my original plan of shutting it down after 6k on the run. I felt great at this point and there were only 6 guys left at the front of the race when I stepped off.

It was also amazing to see one of my best mates Daniel Unger taking the win at the end of the day. And he did it in front of an amazing half a million crazy Germans triathlon fans. He wasn't alone at the front though as my flat mate Jan Frodeno, also pushed himself all the way for his ticket to Beijing and 6th place. And then there was, Miss Dittmer! She nearly gave me heart failure the day before with her amazing effort on the run to haul in all that was before her and grab her Beijing ticket!!!.

So two parts of our little home in Saarbrucken are Beijing bound. Now its time for this guy to go out there and give it everything I have just as they did last weekend. If I ever needed any inspiration at this moment those three have certainly given me something to roll with.

Enjoy the ABs smashing everyone! I'll try and sneak a headline...

Cheers,

Kris
