Mexico World Win race win 27th October 2008

victoryKris has taken out the last round of the ITU World Cup for the year. Kris was always at the front of the race and in hot conditions on a hard course proved to be the strongest on the day. Read more here.

 

Mexico World Cup preview 18th October 2008

The end of the racing year is almost here for Kris. This weekend he races the last round of the ITU World Cup in Mexico before, all things being equal, racing in Noosa Australia. Read more here.

Mixed emotions! 21st August 2008

krisThe big day finally arrived and is now history. Kris' best mate wins bronze and his German flatmate is the Olympic champion. Its been an emotional time for Kris as he reflects on his friends success and his own misfortune as his cut foot came back to haunt him on the the run course. Read more here.

 

Getting close to GO time! 10th August 2008

Just over a week till the big race in Beijing and Kris is with the rest of the TriNZ team in Juju, Korea. Kris is also happy to report his cut foot is healing well and he can't wait to put all the hard work down on the road. Read more here.

Kitzbuhel race report 21st July 2008

Just over 4 weeks out from the Olympics Kris came second to Ivan Rana of Spain in a ITU World Cup race in the Austrian Alps. Read Kris' race report here.

A win in Paris! 8th July 2008

Kris won his first French Grand Prix race of the year in what was his first race for his new club Beauvias. The field included no less then 10 guys heading to Beijing in August so it was a great test coming down from altitude. Read Kris' full report here.

Schliersee race report 24th June 2008

runKris took third place at the Schliersee ITU European Cup race on the weekend. Schliersee is one of the hardest courses around as well as being one of the most scenic. Kris couldn't spend too much time looking around of course but he did have a good hit out coming down from altitude. Read Kris' full report here.

Running, London and altitude 14th May 2008

runningAn update from Kris. Kris has worked his way through a block of training that had him running some big miles. This weekend he will race an invitational sprint race in London before heading up to Font Romeu for a session of altitude training.

At the same time as Kris is in London the New Zealand cricket team will be playing England in the first test, lets hope they can both get a great result.

Ishigaki and New Plymouth reports 17th April 2008

Kris forced to pull out of Ishigaki 14th April 2008

Kris pulled out of the Ishigaki World Cup race due to illness yesterday. However he is now off to Europe looking forward to a quick recovery and getting into his next big block of training as he prepares for the Beijing Olympics. Stay tuned for more!

krisAfter a good start to the ITU season, Kris is on the way to Japan for the next round of the ITU World Cup. But before he left New Zealand TV3 interviewed Kris and talked to him about the next few months leading up to Beijing.

New Plymouth ITU World Cup 6th April 2008

Kris finished a strong 4th in his first World Cup race of the year. The race was won by Javier Gomez after a breakway on the bike established a 1 minute+ lead. Kris had the 3rd fastest run leg as he caught all of the breakways except Britons Andrew Johns who just held on to 3rd by a matter of seconds. Hear from Kris here.

(Kris's fourth place finish was the 8th time he has finished one spot outside the podium to go with his 10 podium places.)

Preview of New Plymouth ITU World Cup 3rd April 2008

This weekend the ITU World Cup circuit rolls into New Plymouth, New Zealand for the second round of racing. The worlds best will be their along side Kris on home turf. Read Kris' preview of the race here.

2 plus 1 makes 3! 11th March 2008

The Oceania and New Zealand championships are done for the year and Shane Reed took out the title. A great result for him and New Zealand as it insures 3 Kiwis will be starting at Beijing. As to which Kiwi will be joining Kris and Bevan this will not be know till after Mooloolaba. Read Kris' race report from Wellington here.

Living high... 6th March 2008

kris...Training low. Kris has been up at Snowfarm again with a number of NZ and overseas athletes at a training camp. The camp now over, Kris reports on progress and looks forward to racing on home turf at the Oceania and New Zealand Championships this weekend in Wellington. Read more here.
