Season and Cancun wrap-up 10th November 2007

Kris is back at his German base and enjoying  break from training as he prepares to head 'downunder' for a New Zealand summer. Read about his Cancun race and thoughts on his season and coming year here.

Cancun preview 2nd November 2007

To finish off his season Kris will be racing the Cancun, Mexico round of the ITU World Cup. Despite suffering from the flu Kris will head to the race knowing he has had a very consistent season. He can finish the year as high as 2nd in the season rankings and no lower then 5th. Read more here.

Dallas US open 15th October 2007

Kris finished 8th in Dallas just a week after winning in Rhodes. Greg Bennett from Australia won the race. Kris now heads down to Cancun, Mexico to round out his year in the last ITU World Cup race of the season.

Kris wins Rhodes World Cup! 8th October 2007

Kris wins at RhodesKris added some much needed colour to an otherwise black weekend for New Zealand sport with a impressive win on the Greek Island of Rhodes. Kris broke away from the field on the bike with Brazilian Reinaldo Colucci and once onto the run out sprinted Alistair Brownlee for the win.

Rhodes World Cup preview 3rd October 2007

Colossus of RhodesKris is racing this weekend on the Greek island of Rhodes the site of the Colossus of Rhodes one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. This will be Kris' last race in Europe this year, he will round off his racing year in North America racing the US Open in Dallas and then the World Cup race in Cancun on the 3rd of November.

Kris is off to the Olympics! 16th September 2007

krisKris and Bevan Docherty both claimed a place on the New Zealand team today with 4th and 3rd places respectively in the Beijing round of the ITU World Cup. In 10 months time the same course will be used for the Olympic race. Joining Kris and Bevan will be Debbie Tanner and Samantha Warriner who qualified for the women's team yesterday. The possible remaining spots will be decided at Mooloolaba, next March. More to come from Kris soon.

World Championships results 2nd September 2007

Daniel Unger of Germany won in front of his home crowd while Terrenzo Bozzone and Bevan Docherty finished in the top ten for New Zealand. Kris was at the front of the race up until 4km to go in the run before eventually pulling the pin with a eye firmly on the Beijing selection race. Press report here.

Congratulations to Nicola and Ryan! 18th August 2007

Congratulations to Nicola and Ryan on the birth of their son Jacob. The little fella weighed in at a healthy 7lb 4oz, Mum's doing well and all reports say Dad managed to stay upright for the whole ordeal! Kris is proud to be an Uncle again and sure that his niece Kaela will be excited to have a cousin to play with too.

2nd at Tiszaujvaros World Cup 11th August 2007

Kris has just finished an excellent 2nd to world number one Javier Gomez, completing another excellent day for NZ triathlon after Samantha Warriner and Debbie Tanner finished 1st and 3rd in the women's race earlier. Kris' report here.
